Remembering Rev. Fr. Dr. O. Thomas

Its been a year. As we mark the first anniversary of the passing of Rev. Fr. O. Thomas on September 12, we are reminded of the profound void left in the Indian Orthodox Church by his departure. His loss was not only deeply felt within our community but also resonated throughout the wider world of theology, education, and spiritual guidance. Rev. Fr. O. Thomas was not just a priest but a luminary figure—a remarkable teacher, an eloquent speaker, a compassionate humanitarian, life changing counselor, and a distinguished theologian. His teachings have left an indelible mark on all of us, and his legacy continues to illuminate our spiritual paths. We remember and honor his contributions to our faith, cherishing the wisdom he imparted and the inspiration he ignited within us. May his memory be an eternal source of comfort and guidance to all who were touched by his presence and teachings.

While achen has touched many facets of the church, three areas that really stand out are

  1. Human relationships and spiritual foundation
  2. Societal goodness and solidarity
  3. Promoting simplicity and questioning the extravaganza and showoff culture in the church
