Our Reachout Projects
Every year, every moment, many tears fall on this earth. Our Lord has taught us what to do. The question we should ask ourselves is what are we doing? As Mother Teresa once said, you cannot do great things, we can do only small things with great love. As a small family, we strongly believe in this and only try to do small things, but with great love.
Every year, the offertory collection that is received on Good Friday is year marked for our Charity projects. Every year, our faithful have always made this a success, enabling us to do small things with great love. The transperancy and followup has been key in not only spreading the word about the need and to keep the consistency in operating our projects.
Our projects are mainly focussed in the areas of education, medical assistance, shelter, marriage assistance, feeding the hungry.
1. PEEK (Primary Education Essential Kits for financially poor students)
We live in a world where there are many children who do not get the chance to realize the dream of attending a school because their parents cannot afford the cost of even primary education. To help these kids, PEEK project provides essential kits for primary school children.
2. HEAP (Higher Education Affordable for the Poor)
The cost of higher education has skyrocketed in the past many years and has reached a point where the financially poor families are unable to afford it. The HEAP project provides education assistance to students who would like to pursue their higher education.
3. SAY (Shelter a year)
It's hard to imagine plastic cement bags as the outdoor walls of a house, trash metal from tins as your roof and old sarees and cardboard boxes as your room separators, but these are the unfortunate reality in some parts of our state. The SAY (previously called ROOF project) will build a low budget shelter for one such family.
4. KNOT (A helping hand to overcome the financial burdens of marriage for the poor)
While the extravaganza of marriages of rich families increases every day, there are many young girls who are unable to get married because they cannot afford the cost of even the simplest marriages. KNOT project will provide marriage cost assistance to a girl from a financially poor family.
5. FEED (Feeding the orphans)
While we are blessed with our daily bread, there are people who look forward with uncertainty for their next meal. FEED project will feed 10 orphanages on our anniversary.
